The Design Consultation

After initial contact, it’s time to meet in person. Since our business runs out of the Columbus area, design consultations are always on site and usually take about an hour. This is a chance to hear your design ideas, aesthetic and material preferences, and expectations for your space. As I listen to your goals, I’ll begin to establish a realistic budget and timeline for your remodeling project. Taking the time upfront to work with you helps me better understand your design, cost, and material preferences. The better I understand what you need out of your remodeling, the more accurate my pricing and time estimates will be.

Company Policies

Due to the significant amount of thought, time, and work that goes into our work, we charge $150 for our design consultation. After this initial meeting, you’ll be provided a quote based on the amount of work that your remodeling needs and the estimated cost of your chosen materials. This means that you don’t have to pay for an entire design before you hear the time and money required for your bathroom remodeling project.

How Our Prices Work

Most inquiries for bathroom renovations are engineered around an entry level budget, and the most important consideration when planning around this budget is the cost of materials. Together, we’ll thoughtfully select what materials will create a dramatic transformation for your bathroom. My nuanced understanding of where to source these high-quality materials at different price points will prove an asset at this stage of your remodel.

During this stage of the process, I’ll explain the pros and cons of different material selections and how each additional installation affects the timeline and budget for the project. Often, I share photos of past projects to explain how a proposed design affects the mechanicals, function, and cost for the remodeled space. Some of the most common upgrades that increase the project budget are more detailed cabinetry, extensive use of patterned and detailed tile work, heated floors, custom stonework, steam showers, and rearranging the mechanicals for bathtubs, lights, and plumbing fixtures.

Unlike many other bathroom remodeling companies, we provide a comprehensive itemized report that includes the scope of work, chosen materials, and optional additional installations. This service gives the homeowner upfront and concise pricing so they can make an informed decision on how to make their budget.

As well as designing the project with you, I handle all the sourcing of materials. We meet at the tile shop, countertop fabricator facility, and supply stores together. It’s as simple as pointing out what excites you. We’ll make decisions on cabinetry, tile, stonework, bath renovation, and shower remodeling that works best for your budget with the materials that stand out to you.
